The Art, Science, & Design Center

Located within the Atlanta International School, The Art, Science, & Design Center building presented Tebarco Mechanical with many challenges as it worked to install professional grade HVAC and plumbing systems. The Tebarco team worked in unison with Collins, Cooper, Carusi Architects in a collaborative effort to help the building target LEED Silver certification.

One main challenge facing the commercial HVAC contractor was the extremely compressed area that was available to run all utilities. This confined space required the inclusion of water source heat pumps and the associated ductwork. Due to LEED requirements, the water source heat pumps had to be located in the corridor. During the project, there were several conflicts with the structure, ducts and other utilities that were not foreseen during the design phase of the project. Working closely with all parties, Tebarco was able to develop a solution that satisfied LEED requirements. In the end, the clients and architects were pleased with Tebarco Mechanical and the team earned 1st place for AGC 2011 Georgia Builds for the project.
